Looking for water parks in Alicante? The major parks usually associated with an Alicante holiday are mainly around Benidorm, while Aquopolis is farther south in Torrevieja. The best choice therefore depends as much on where you are staying as on the park itself.
This guide compares four of the most useful Costa Blanca options: Aqualandia, Aqua Natura, Terra Mítica and Aquopolis Torrevieja. The first three are in or near Benidorm; Terra Mítica is a theme park, while the other three are water parks.
Important: These parks are seasonal, and opening days, attractions and ticket conditions can change. Online tickets may save you time at the ticket office, but they do not automatically mean queue-skipping access to the rides.
Which park is best for you?
- Aqualandia: Best for large water slides, teenagers and adults, while still offering family and children's areas.
- Aqua Natura: Best for families wanting a more compact water park with options for both younger and older children.
- Terra Mítica: Best for roller coasters, family rides and shows rather than a pure water-park day.
- Aquopolis Torrevieja: Best if you are staying in the southern Costa Blanca, especially Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa.
1. Aqualandia Benidorm – best for slides and thrills
Aqualandia is one of the best-known water parks on the Costa Blanca. Set beside Serra Gelada in Benidorm, it combines family areas and a wave pool with more intense attractions such as Verti-Go and Cyclón.
This is our strongest choice if the main goal is a full day at a large water park. Families with younger children have calmer areas, while older children and adults get a wider selection of fast slides.
2. Aqua Natura Benidorm – a strong family choice
Aqua Natura sits beside Terra Natura in Benidorm and is a family-oriented water park with slides, pools, children's areas and relaxation zones. It works particularly well for families with children of different ages who prefer a more compact layout.
It is not only for small children: the park also has faster slides and activities for older children and adults. If you are considering both Terra Natura and Aqua Natura, check which combination tickets are available for your date.
3. Terra Mítica – theme park near Benidorm
Terra Mítica is the choice for a day when you want a theme park rather than a water park. Its themed areas draw on ancient Mediterranean civilisations including Egypt, Greece and Rome, combining family attractions, larger rides and live entertainment.
The areas and attractions operating can vary during the season, so check the calendar and what your ticket includes before choosing a date.
4. Aquopolis Torrevieja – best for the southern Costa Blanca
If you are staying in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa or the southern Costa Blanca, Aquopolis is often more practical than travelling all the way to Benidorm. It combines faster slides, family attractions, children's areas and optional extras such as VIP zones.
Aquopolis operates seasonally, so always check the opening calendar before planning your day, particularly outside peak summer.
Before you book
- Check the opening date and hours for the exact day you plan to visit.
- Check height and age restrictions if children have specific slides they want to ride.
- Read what the ticket actually includes. “Skip the ticket line” is not the same as a fast pass for attractions.
- If you are staying in Alicante city, plan your transport to Benidorm or Torrevieja before buying tickets.
- In July and August, arriving early is usually the simplest way to get more from the day.
