👋 About Solrute
Your independent guide to sun, beach, and city life in Spain
We help international travelers discover the most beautiful parts of Spain's east coast and the Costa del Sol. Combining firsthand local knowledge with a deep understanding of what visitors are looking for during their Spanish holiday.
Solrute was created for those who want to explore Spain independently – without having to rely on outdated guidebooks or generic tourist websites. We provide you with updated, practical, and independent information about Alicante, Valencia, and Málaga, so you can confidently plan the perfect trip.
Our Story
Solrute started with a simple frustration: "Why isn't there a proper, highly-detailed guide to the Spanish east coast – written by someone who actually knows the area?"
As a Spaniard originally from Valencia (and now living abroad), I have traveled back and forth for many years. Whenever friends asked me for advice about Valencia, Alicante, or Málaga, I was struck by how little reliable information there actually was. Most sites were either:
- Generic, mass-produced pages (like TripAdvisor or standard booking sites) lacking a local perspective.
- Outdated travel blogs from 2015, written after a single holiday trip.
- Superficial articles that missed all the important, practical details.
I wanted to create something much better – a modern, mobile-friendly resource combining my local knowledge from Valencia with an understanding of what international travelers need when planning a trip to Spain.
Since I travel to Valencia (and the surrounding cities) multiple times a year to visit family, I have firsthand insight into everything from the best tapas bars that locals actually love, to which beaches are the least crowded, and how to practically navigate the public transport systems.
In 2026, I launched Solrute as a dedicated guide to the most popular destinations on Spain's southeastern coast. Our goal is very simple: To make your Spanish holiday smoother, more affordable, and much better – with the local tips you won't find anywhere else.

Why Trust Us?
We are not just travel writers – we are originally from Valencia. 🇪🇸
We know exactly what visitors look for during a Spanish holiday (sun, warm sea, great food, and safety), while simultaneously knowing the Spanish east coast like the back of our hands.
We travel to Valencia (and the Alicante/Málaga areas) multiple times a year – not just as tourists, but to visit family, eat at truly local restaurants, discover new hidden beaches, and keep ourselves fully updated on recent changes (like new hotels, restaurants, and attractions).
This means:
- We exclusively recommend genuine local gems, not just the most famous tourist traps.
- We know exactly what is worth spending money on (and what you can safely skip).
- We have direct and personal contact with locals – including hotels, restaurants, and guides.
- We update our guides based on firsthand visits, and not just random Google searches.
- We understand the cultural differences, which can greatly impact your travel experience.
In short: Solrute is written by a Spaniard for international travelers – simply the best combination! 🇪🇸❤️🌍
Our Values
Local Knowledge
We are from Valencia and travel to the region several times a year. Our recommendations are built on firsthand experience, not internet searches.
Independence
We do not accept payment to give recommendations. If we recommend a specific hotel or restaurant, it is purely because we honestly think it is great.
Always Updated
Spain changes fast. We make sure to update our guides regularly based on our own visits and direct contacts with the local population.
International Focus
We write specifically for an international audience: comparing weather, focusing on major flight connections, and including the cultural details that matter to you.
Two Cultures
We combine warm Spanish hospitality and local insights with structured, reliable, and precise information.
Practical
No unnecessary fluff. We provide you exclusively with the concrete information you actually need: prices, opening hours, maps, transport options – and insider tips you won't find anywhere else.
