Valencia is Spain's third-largest city, yet it feels incredibly relaxed and welcoming. With its fantastic mix of futuristic architecture, historic cobblestone streets, long beaches, and famous paella, it is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway.
Here is our ultimate itinerary to make the most of 3 days in Valencia.
Day 1: The Future and the Sea (City of Arts & Sciences)
Start your vacation by visiting Valencia's most iconic landmark: Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). This futuristic complex looks like something out of a sci-fi movie! Dedicate your morning to exploring the Oceanogràfic, Europe's largest aquarium, and the interactive science museum.
To avoid the massive ticket queues (and see how to easily get there from the airport), read our guide to transport and the City of Arts here.
Day 2: Safari in the City (Bioparc)
On day two, it's time for a unique nature experience. Valencia's Bioparc is considered one of the best zoos in the world. There are no traditional cages here; the animals live in large landscapes separated from the public by rivers and hidden barriers. It feels like stepping straight into Africa!

Day 3: The Old Town and authentic Paella
Spend your last day exploring Valencia's historic center (Ciutat Vella). Start your day with breakfast at the spectacular Mercado Central (one of Europe's largest fresh food markets). Then walk to La Lonja de la Seda (the silk exchange) and climb the cathedral's bell tower (El Miguelete) for the best view of the city.
Finish your trip by heading down to Malvarrosa beach to eat authentic Valencian paella for lunch – after all, this is where the dish was invented!
